Our Expert Canyoneering Instructors will lead you on an advanced canyoneering class and adventure that will include improving your art, technique, partaking in all the various canyoneering activities, and having a blast all along the way!

This Advanced Canyoneering Course (ACE-L2) is designed to provide students with the tools needed to jump to the next level of technical skill and become competent and safe canyoneers in ALL classes of canyons and touches on techniques and skills for Canyon Essentials (ACE-L3) and Canyon Rescue (ACE-L4). The practical experience that you gain during this course will give you the knowledge and confidence to tackle advanced canyon obstacles and many unexpected situations. This extremely popular curriculum has set the standard by which all other courses and curriculums may be judged.

This course was designed primarily to meet the needs of recreational canyoneers, but also forms the training foundation for those planning to seek certification as a Professional Canyon Guide (ACE-L5).

Prerequisite: Technical Canyoneering Course (Basic Level ACE-L1) or Instructor permission. Since this Two-Day Advanced Canyoneering Course (ACE-L2) builds upon the skills and techniques presented in our 3-Day Technical Canyoneering Course (ACE-L1), you must have that training or extensive personal experience to be admitted to this class.

Important Tour Information:
-We provide a place to camp, but no camping gear. You must bring your own camping gear if you choose to camp with us.
-The course fee is non-refundable, but may be put toward a future class during the same calendar year if 31 days notice is given. If 31 days notice is not given, there will be no refunds or changes to your itinerary.
-We reserve the right to change or cancel any itinerary at any time if there are not enough students registered or if in our opinion, conditions so require. If we must cancel a course, you may either join a future course or request a full refund. Inclement weather is not necessarily reason enough to cancel a course. If we believe we can teach a majority of the curriculum in less-than-ideal weather, we will! If there isn’t sufficient time given to practical exercises due to conditions, you may attend the relevant day of a future course, free of charge.

What to bring
  • Appropriate canyoneering clothing and footwear.
  • Basic personal gear is required for this course: Harness, Helmet, Rappel Device, Safety Tether, Multiple Locking HMS Carabiners, 48″ sling/runner/footloop, prusik loop.
  • We encourage you to bring your own minimal beginning technical equipment for canyoneering, but what you don’t have will be provided.
  • Any mechanical ascenders you would like to learn how to use (Ropeman II recommended or Basic, Micro, etc. bring them.) Ropeman II’s for training/practice will be provided!
