Our Expert Guide will take you on an exciting trip into Córdoba's Jesuit past, discovering the imposing Jesuit Block and Estancias of Córdoba.
We will delve deep into the heart of Córdoba's Jesuit Block, declared a World Heritage Site, and home to the core buildings of the Jesuit system. This area is made up of the university, church and residence of the Society of Jesus, and the college. Here, we will also find five "estancias", or farming estates, which contain both religious and secular buildings dating back to the 17th century. Each structure presents its own architectural features, functions, and historical purpose, making this a unique economical experiment.
We will also take time to visit a fascinating winery in Colonia Caroya, an important center of wine production with strong immigrant roots, near the Jesuit Block.
Join us for a journey that travels through 400 years of history, Jesuits, independence wars, the Old Camino Real, and immigration.
