50 years ago the LGBTI community resisted. On the night of June, 28, 1969, people at the gay bar Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted for the first time the systematic police violence that was carried out towards them. This act sparked the beginning of the LGBTI movement, a global movement that affected the course of world history and was placed next to the black emancipation and freedom for women movements in its significance.
